Making a Joyful Noise

Bible Verse:
Sing praise to the LORD, you His godly ones, and give thanks to His holy name. For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime; weeping may last for the night, but a shout of joy comes in the morning. Ps 30:4-5

My thought for today is what kind of a song do you think that your life sings to the Lord on a daily basis. Do you think it is a love song, a song of anger, a song of selfishness or a song of surrender? As I read and reread today’s scripture passage the song that we sing unto the Lord is more than a few words offered up in prayer, but rather a life that is surrendered into His care.

David wrote about a heart that has been turned to God and where one’s life songs of praise come naturally to the lips of all who have want a deepened relationship with God. We may struggle through trials and tribulations of many kinds, but the fact still stands that we must choose to sing God’s praise.

Songs of praise come flow from a heart and mind that is centered on pleasing God. When God is on our mind we are humbled before His Holy Name, where by at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow and tongue confess that He is Lord to the glory of the Father.

Take a good look at your own life this week. What kind of song have you been singing? Is God praised or is God mocked? Life is short and the older I get the shorter it becomes.

We need to be purposeful in our singing. We need to consciously turn our attention away from the world and our selfish desires and toward God the source of all our blessings. When we do this, a song will flow out of our hearts desire. Words will not need to be said, because our actions and our love for God and each other will be witnessed by all who touch our lives.

You have a choice to make today. The kind of song you will sing is up to you. Choose to sing boldly before God. Make it a love song that is heard through all eternity.

Are you sing unto the Lord? Is it a song of love? Do others see you sing unto God, praising His Holy name and marveling at the sight that they see? You can make a difference for time eternal if you are willing to sing the right song of love. Do not waste another moment. Sing boldly for He is worthy of our praise.
