God is All Ears – Speak for He is Listening
Bible Verse: O LORD my God, I cried to Thee for help, and Thou didst heal me. O LORD, Thou hast brought up my soul from the depths; Thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. Ps 30:2-3
My thought for today is when we truly humble ourselves before our Heavenly Father and pour out our heart He hears. Make no mistake about this, God hears every word we says and sees every action that we perform. He does not miss a heartbeat because He is distracted. We may not be able to fathom this but this does not make the statement any less true. God cares for you and I and all of His children.
He wants that we would turn our attention to Him, away from the circumstances of life and seek His face. David in today’s scripture passage reminds us that God is listening and God is in action in our lives. He may not seem as responsive as we would like and He might not act according to our desires, but nonetheless He is engaged in our lives.
David witnessed the hand of God removing Him from the pit of despair. Always being on the run and fear for your life could be a real bummer. Living in a cave, eating meals on the run was not what David wanted for his live, but it is what David accepted. He remained steadfast in His praise of God giving Him the praise, honor and glory for bringing him out of his depression and keeping him alive.
David turned his heart toward God and God listened and responded. We can do the same. It is our choice to turn our hearts toward God. It is our choice to be thankful for all things the good as well as the not so good. It is our choice to unceasingly prayer with a thankful heart for the things that God has already don in our lives.
God is waiting for our response. Let’s not disappoint Him. Let’s turn our heart and mind to Him and humble ourselves in His presence. He is listening, speak servant, speak!
Where is your heart and mind today? Is it focused on the things of earth that will not last or is it focused on God? Have you spent time humbly speaking to God? He is waiting for our response, because He cares deeply for you and me. Nothing gives Him grater joy than hearing from you. He is listening, speak.
