"Singing to God a New Song"
Singing to God a New Song
Bible Verse: Ascribe to the LORD, O sons of the mighty, Ascribe to the LORD glory and strength. Ascribe to the LORD the glory due to His name; Worship the LORD in holy array. Ps 29:1-2
My thought for today is the reverence with which we humble ourselves before a Holy God who is worthy of our praise. Man is quite creative after all we were created in the image and likeness of God. At times I marvel at how we can advance our understanding in medicine, electronics or engineering, but no matter how creative we become we can come close to God in His majesty, awe and power.
After all, out of nothing God created the universe. He spoke and the heavens leapt into existence. His creation is so wonderful, so powerful that we still have not even scratched the surface of our understanding.
God is incredible and worthy of our praise, but do we truly hold Him up praising His name and singing His praises? Do we truly worship God at the intricacies of His creation and the awe of His majesty? Do we take what He has created for granted and ignore the might and power of our Creator?
We have an opportunity right now to humble ourselves before a Holy God. We have the privilege to sing His name to ascribe to Him the glory that is due His name.
David recognized the power and majesty of God. He understood that His blessing were not of His own design, but rather a gift from God. He sang praise to God who was His Lord and King. David the most powerful man of His time, humbled himself before God.
As you prepared for a new day, as you settle into a life blessed by God take time, make time to ascribe to Him the praise and worship of his name. It does not take but a moment to thank Him for the song of birds chirping in the air, the sun dawning on the horizon or the moon and stars shining brightly in the havens. He is but a breath away, so breath deeply and sing to Him your song of praise.
Is Jesus Lord of your life? Have you ascribe praise to God for the blessings of life that you have already received? Are you willing to sing to Him a song of worship and praise? He is waiting upon our response. Let’s not disappoint Him.
