"The Source of All Blessings"

The Source of All Blessings

Bible Verse:
Because He has heard the voice of my supplication. The LORD is my strength and my shield; My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart exults, And with my song I shall thank Him. Ps 28:6-7

My thought for today is the source of our strength; our joy and our peace will tell the story of the focus of our lives. As I meditated on today’s scripture passages I realized that my focus shifts from time to time. Sometimes I get so fixated on work or satisfying the desires of my heart I leave little room for anything else. God is nowhere in sight when I focus on these things.

David reminds us in today’s scripture that are prayers are answered by God and not by man. It is not by random chance that what we ask for we receive. It is not even by hard work and focus that we are blessed though we were told in the garden that we would toil all of the days of our lives.

The source of all our good fortune, all of our strength, all of our peace is in God and not the things of this world. The things of this world though permanent today will be gone tomorrow. Solomon told us that chasing the things of this world were as worthless as chasing after the wind.

Our real source of power, strength and comfort comes from our relationship with God. We can have peace in the midst of the storms of life. We can find joy in sorrow, comfort in fear and reconciliation in brokenness if we will turn to Jesus and place our trust in His care.

Life is too short to be chasing after the wrong things. We have so much to be grateful for because of the blessings that we have already received from God. Our prayers have been answered and not in some random way, but order by our Heavenly Father.

Let us lift our hearts and minds to God. Let’s thank Him for His mercy and love. We have been blessed and will continue to find His grace if we are willing to place our trust in Him.

Where has your focus been? Do you chase after the things of earth or heaven? Do you place your hope in God or man? Jesus is waiting for our response. We have been called and He wants to bless us with His peace, but first we need to turn our heart and mind to Him. He is ready to bless are you ready to receive?
