"Raising Holy Hands"

Raising Holy Hands

Bible Verse:
Hear the voice of my prayers when I cry to Thee for help, when I lift up my hands toward Thy holy sanctuary. Ps28:2

My thought for today is when was the last time we truly lift our hands to heaven and surrender all to God in prayer. Many people find it hard to lift their hands in worship for it is an outward sign of an inward feeling that lets go and honors God in plain view for all to see.

This is should be a naturally occurring activity. We see throughout the Bible how God’s people showed their surrender by lifting their hands with palms open showing our emptiness and desire to be filled by God’s Spirit.

Go ahead right now. Lift your hands up in prayer and praise to God. It may fell a little awkward at first, but that is because you are not use to doing it. You and I do not openly signal our intentions to surrender to our Risen Christ. We may feel a twinge of embarrassment, but set that aside. The evil one does not want us worshiping God in truth.

Raise up holy hands as a sign of your love to God. Pray without ceasing to the One who loves you unconditionally. He held nothing back as He sent His Son, Jesus to die on the cross so that we might live.

David knew the importance of outward signs of worship. He danced before God. He raised his hands often before God in prayerful surrender. We to can rejoice in our own freedom.

I am no different than many other followers of Jesus Christ. I to have at times find it awkward in lifting my hands in complete surrender to the One who loves me. We do not be anxious about this moment for God has called us to a time of prayerful surrender.

Begin now in the quiet of this moment. Close the door and now in the private of this moment surrender all to God. Lift up you hands and your heart to God. Allow Him to shower you with His love. It may feel strange at first but let go and let God enjoy you surrendering worship.

Are you wiling to try? Will you let go and enjoy fellowship with God? He is waiting on your response don’t disappoint Him.
