"Enjoying Fellowship with God"
Enjoying Fellowship with God
Bible Verse: Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice, and be gracious to me and answer me. When Thou didst say, “ Seek My face,” my heart said to Thee, “Thy face, O LORD, I shall seek.” Ps 27:7-8
My thought for today is the fact that God knows every thought before we have it and every word before it is spoken. God desires that we turn our heart and mind to Him, seeking His face in our time of need as well as thanksgiving in time of plenty. Life is all about our relationship with God.
So many people have failed to recognize that we were created for fellowship with God and each other. We are to make that relationship flourish, but too many have ignored God’s call into fellowship.
David verbal called out to the Lord. He wanted others to know that this relationship was not private but for all to see. He knew that God was listening and that His requests would be fulfilled as long as they were aligned with the will of God.
Did you notice what David asked for? He wanted God’s grace, His unmerited favor. He did not ask for health, wealth, power or prestige, but rather God’s presence. This was David’s time to revel in the presence of God.
David knew that God calls us to seek His face, to enjoy fellowship with our Creator. This is exactly what David did. You and I have that same call. Christ is waiting upon our response.
We may have many needs. Perhaps anger wills your heart today or fear or anxiety about the future. These are important prayer requests, but the most important request we can make is for God’s fellowship, God’s unmerited favor to see us through the tough times of our lives.
What is your heart’s desire? Are you in fellowship with your Creator? Do you call upon Him throughout your day? We must not relegate our time with God to a single time slot during the day. His grace is need throughout our day and it is there for the asking, so ask! Life is short and we need to be in awe and in love with Jesus, seeking His face and receiving Hid grace. This is where living is Good!
