"These Hands"
These Hands
Bible Verse: O LORD, I love the habitation of Thy house, and the place where Thy glory dwells. Ps 26:8
My thought for today is the place where the glory of God dwells should be our hearts, mind and bodies, but I am afraid often this is not the place where it is found. The glory of the Lord does not have physicality and cannot be contained or maintained in a build or location on earth. The glory of the Lord is witnessed all around us each and every day of our lives.
You can’t leave the place where you are right now without witnessing the glory of the Lord; after all He created you in His image and likeness. Take a close look at your hands. Those fingerprints were given to you as a unique gift. His glory was imparted to you from birth, but all to often we shroud it in sin and fill our lives with things that are not of the kingdom of god.
Wiggle your fingers. This is God’s handiwork. He designed the bone, muscle and tissue, along with the sensors to allow you to touch. He has given us such wonderful gifts that all too often we take for granted.
We do not see the hands you are inspecting as the glory of the Lord’s but they are. They can be used to glorify His name or for selfish gains. These hands can be lifted in praise or clinched in fits of rage. These hands can and should be the glory of God.
Wherever they go others should be able to witness the glory of God in their presence. God has called us today to remember we are His prized possession. His glory is witnessed through you and I. Let’s make every opportunity that we have a means for His glory to be witnessed in us.
Christ is counting on us to make a difference in this world and it begins with these hands the symbol of His glory. Greet this day with excitement and allow these hands to glorify your King.
Does your life reflect the glory of the Lord? Can you say that you have been building up the kingdom of God by the way you are living your life? Have others witnessed the glory of God in you? Today starts an new chapter in our lives. Let’s be careful what we do with these hands. May they always and in everyway bring honor and glory to God.
