"Trust and Obey"

Trust and Obey

Bible Verse:
To Thee, O LORD, I lift up my soul. O my God, in Thee I trust. Ps 25:1-2

My thought for today is where we place our trust is often the location of our heart’s desires. As I meditated on these verses I realized that life is complicated at times. We can easily get wrapped up in the moment and its swirl and forget that it is not about our abilities to fix, solve our resolve the challenges that we face, but rather our willingness to turn these over to the Lord.

We need to learn to call upon the Lord throughout our day. Our time with God cannot be a fleeting moment at the beginning or end of the day, but rather must be a walk with god throughout our day. This is the only way that we can train our heart and mid to turn to Him when the storms of life erupt and captivate our mind.

When Jesus is on our mind and in our heart the obstacles of life do not have the hold and sway that they could have to overwhelm us, to fill us with fear and anxiety. With Jesus these challenges are placed in a different perspective.

The challenges of life whether they be sorrow over the loss of a loved one, fear over the unknown of a future crippled by the news of an illness or anxiety over the potential lose of a job or tarnished reputation. Jesus enables us to cope with the battles that we must face in our lives.

I can’t imagine a life without Christ. Helpless and despair are not great bedfellows. Fear and anxiety are not the elixir of choice. Self sufficiency does not work though we may think that it might.

We need to learn to turn and trust in our heavenly Father. God will see us through the storms of life. He will pilot our ship and navigate us through troubled waters if we will call upon His name. David recognized this in his psalm of praise. It is something that you and I also need to recognize and then do.

What do you place your trust in? Where do you run first in times of great stress or strain? Is it to Jesus or somewhere else? He is waiting for our response. The challenges of life will not go away, but how we respond to them may make all of the difference in our world. Let go God has got you covered.
