Making a Joyful Noise
Bible Verse Surely goodness and loving kindness will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. Ps 23:6
My thought for today is the fact that one day I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. True living if we were to choose it is all about getting to know God, about walking through rough times, enjoying quiet times and be still before Him as He teaches us His ways.
Our world views life differently. We need to focus on our advancement, making money and making a name for ourselves. We look to satisfy our desires and not the greater good. We want to be comfortable when others are not. We want to be first in line to get the best when none of the gifts or pleasures of life will last. We have been duped into self-centered thinking as being the answers to all of our problems.
Today’s message is a message of focus. What are we focused on? What has captivated our life’s attentions? As I meditated on this last verse of the 23rd Psalm I was reminded of the last verse of Amazing grace. This is one of my favorite verses to sing, because it talks about a focus that will never become boring or out of style.
The words of this incredible hymn give me a reason to sing today and every day. It establishes purpose in my life as does today’s scripture passage. The words of this verse ring out for me as I hope they do for you.
When we've been there ten thousand years,Bright shining as the sun,We've no less days to sing God's praise,Than when we first begun
We are called to men and women of God. We are given a lot in life to toil, but also to walk with our God. Jesus by His life showed us the way to the Father. His life was a life that demonstrated even in suffering that we could praise God. We have a choice to make will e life focus on the world and ourselves or will we live focused on God?
Do you praise God throughout the day? Are you sing His song or is it another song? Is God being praised by what you say and do or are you focused on what life can bring to you? We can make a difference for time and eternity. Our neighbors are watching and wondering how we will live. They too need a good example of righteous living. They are willing to follow if we are willing to lead in a godly way. Sing! Sing to the Lord Your Song!
