Being Led By the Hand of God
Bible Verse: He guides me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Ps 23:3
My thought for today is the fact that in order for someone to lead us we must be listening and willing to go where we are led. It is easy for me to become confused in terms of directions. I sometimes get my right turns and left turns all mixed up. Seldom do I get lost when I am following someone because I let go and simply allow my guide to make all of the decisions. This is what God through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit wants to do in our lives.
We are being nudged all of the time, reminding us to take go in this direction, to have that thought or use these words, but at times we stop listening. We stop being obedient to God and decide to follow the desires of our heart. This is when we get into trouble and become lost.
Jesus has showed us the way. His love of love and peace is a model for us to follow and yet we choose to go it on our own wander from his word lost in a sea of selfishness. There is good news though in spite of our stubbornness, God continues to call us back to rejoin Him on the journey of life.
When we are still we hear His voice. When we surrender He can lead. When we are willing He will show us the way. It is because He is a Holy God that we need to stop taking detours and start respond with Her I am lead me.
As you assess the path that you are on, do you see God leading or have you been making all of the decisions? God is calling us today to stop, look and listen. He has got a more perfect way for our lives. When we listen to God He will walk with us leading us through the trials and tribulations of life. We will never be a lone when we choose to walk with God.
Are you on the path of God’s righteousness? Does God have you by the hand, leading you where you must go? Life is short and taking detours is a waste of time. Let’s purpose to be attentive to God’s call in our lives and allow Him to lead us for His name sake.
