"Shine Jesus Shine"
Shine Jesus Shine
Bible Verse: From Thee comes my praise in the great assembly; I shall pay my vows before those who fear Him. The afflicted shall eat and be satisfied; those who seek Him will praise the LORD. Let your heart live forever! All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the LORD, and all the families of the nations will worship before Thee. For the kingdom is the LORD’S, and He rules over the nations. All the prosperous of the earth will eat and worship, all those who go down to the dust will bow before Him, Even he who cannot keep his soul alive. Posterity will serve Him; it will be told of the Lord to the coming generation. They will come and will declare His righteousness To a people who will be born, that He has performed it. Ps 22:25-31
My thought for today is the praise of God is not a private thing, but rather something that should be witnessed by all who know us. Praising God is not something we do when life is good but rather a way to live life regardless of its circumstances.
Jesus on the while in agony, alone and near the point of death quoted this psalm. The first part of this psalm showed the depths of his pain and sorrow while the last part showed the depths of His love for the Father. Most of this psalm praises God because that is how he lived His life.
Things did not always go the way Jesus would have liked them to go. He was rejected, ridiculed, left to fend for Himself and yet His life was a life of prayer and praise. His example is so important to us, because we to have a choice. We can let the world bury us or we can rise up and let the light of Christ shine in our lives as we choose to praise God regardless of how we feel or what is happening around and to us.
David praised God for all that He had done yet while this was being written David lived in a cave hiding from King Saul who wanted to kill him. David knew his higher calling and was to about to let the circumstances of life stymie his praise of God.
Is your life and offering to God? Does the aroma of your praise waft heavenward and please God or is does it smell bad because the world has spoiled and rob you of your joy? You can get your shine back! Your life can be a psalm of praise that echoes in the halls of heaven, if you will let go and let God shine through you. Be all you can be! Let it shine baby, let it shine!
