"Lifting His the Name of Jesus"
Lifting His the Name of Jesus
Bible Verse: I will tell of Thy name to my brethren; In the midst of the assembly I will praise Thee. You who fear the LORD, praise Him; all you descendants of Jacob, glorify Him, and stand in awe of Him, all you descendants of Israel. For He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither has He hidden His face from him; nut when he cried to Him for help, He heard. Ps 22:22-24
My thought for today is the extent of our desire to sing praises to God for all that He has done for us and continues to do in our lives. All to often we get hung up in our circumstances and fail to see just how blessed we have been or presently really are. We can be mired in the challenges of life or we can ask for God’s help to set them aside and walk with God.
Jesus while hanging in agony on the cross did not consider His circumstances shackles that would hold Him back from praising God. He did not consider the abandonment of His disciples as an excuse for not worshiping His Heavenly Father. Pain, abandonment, fear were not going to be obstacles that could stop Jesus from praising the Father.
We to may be call to bear our cross. Pain, illness, lose and anxiety could grip us and try as they might tear us down and miring us in the bog of self pity, but we must not let this happen. God has been so good to us, for while we were yet sinners, God sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross so that we might have eternal life. Jesus stands before the Father right now pleading our case and preparing a place for us. For this we should rejoice always and pray without ceasing.
Life is about decisions. It began in the garden continues in your life and mine. We can take pity on ourselves or we can set aside our lot in live and praise God for who He is and what He has done. God never leaves us, rather it is you and I that leave Him. He stands now at the doorway of our heart and knocks. Let’s stop and take the time to let Him in and praise Him with all of our being.
Does your life praise God? Have you sung His praise yet today? Do you rejoice always and pray unceasingly? The storms of life will come. They will be rough at times, but remember we have a comforter, God’s Spirit that will help us find that inner peace that will allow us to praise God even during the most difficult of times. Do not give up, but rather get up and praise His Holy name.
