"Look for God in the Activities of Life"

Look for God in the Activities of Life

Bible Verse:
Be Thou exalted, O LORD, in Thy strength; we will sing and praise Thy power. Ps 21:13

My thought for today is the things that we do in our lives either a means of exalting or grieving of our Heavenly Father. Often like the church of Laodicea described in the Book of Revelation we can be and have been lukewarm to the call of Jesus in our lives. As followers of Jesus Christ this should never be so but the facts tell us different.

We need to guard ourselves in terms of what we say, what we think and how we act in the world in which we live. God deserves our worship and our praise, but I am afraid that if we look back on the activities of the past few days we may have fallen short of the mark.

Today though is a new day, a time of new beginnings. Today we can stop and smell the flowers, marvel at the colors and sounds of life and praise God for everything that He by His grace allows us to experience. We often take the little things for granted, so let’s slow it down and enjoy what God has done. Let’s praise Him. Let’s lift His name above the earth as we marvel at His amazing grace.

Though lie may not always go according to our plan there is always something that when we are looking for it can become an opportunity to praise God. When we learn to exalt Him in the simple things of life, we will find ourselves looking for ways to thank Him for everything that transpires in our daily activities.

We have kept God in a Book for too long. We have relegated His time to Sunday activities, morning devotionals or evening prayers. Let’s purposefully sing His praise through this day and at the days end look back and see if we were not blessed. He promised to bless those who honor Him. So pay attention! Look for signs that God is around, the breeze on your face, the sunlight in your face or the smell of spring / summer in the air.

What steps will you take to stay alert to God’s call in your life? Will you look for Him throughout the day? Will you praise Him wherever you meet Him? He is waiting to bless you so sing His praise and enjoy Him throughout your day.
