Letting Go and Letting God Lead
Bible Verse: For the king trusts in the LORD, And through the loving kindness of the Most High he will not be shaken. Ps 21:7
My thought for today is the depth of trust that we have in God will be witnessed by the way in which we live. When God is Lord of our lives we do not live in fear. When God is the first One we turn to our relationship with Him is strong. When we walk by faith and not by sight enduring the challenges of this life then God Lord of our lives.
David in today’s psalm snippet has embraced the fact that God placed him upon the throne of Israel. God is the One who give him victory. God is the One who has become David’s heart’s desire. David has it all and yet He desires God above all that the earth has to offer Him.
David did not have an easy life. Hunted by King Saul for several decades and attacked by the Philistines year after year enabled David to see that his real strength came from the Lord. David though the most powerful man alive learned to humble himself in the sight of the Lord and that lifting the name of God on high was the key to his success.
What will it take for you and I to learn this important lesson? As we look closely at our lives we need to take stock in the way in which we live. Our dependency or lack of dependency upon God will be witnessed in our lives. The challenges of life do not need to overwhelm us or cripple us to the point of despair. We can live in the peace and comfort of the Lord as David had done several thousand years ago.
As you prepare for another day, take stock in this admonition from God. He can and will be our strength if we will choose to cal upon Him, place our trust in Him, sing His praises when life does not deserve a song. God is worthy of our praise regardless of what storms of life may be tossing us here and there.
Are you willing to humble yourself in the sight of the Lord? Will you place your trust completely in Him? Can you praise Him now and always regardless of the state that your life might be in at the present? We can find solace in the arms of God. We can find hope in hopelessness when we turn our attention to God. We can be loved when the world is unlovable. Take a moment to call upon the name of Jesus and allow Him to be your rock and our strength.
