"Singing of the Glory of God"

Singing of the Glory of God

Bible Verse:
The heavens are telling of the glory of God; and their expanse is declaring the work of His hands. Day to day pours forth speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words; their voice is not heard. Ps 19:1-3

My thought for today is the amazing fact that nature still shouts of the glory of God while man often remains silent. I am sitting at my desk in the early morning hours and the birds are singing of the glory of God. They want all to hear and pay attention, taking note of all the marvelous things that God has done.

Man, who was created in the image of God is often silent. We do not want the world to know that we love God because some may ridicule us. The fact that the world is falling into depravity ought to give us a great venue to sing the praises of God who saves us from our sin and selfishness.

You can shout and scream in attempt to hush nature and yet the birds will continue to sing, the sun will continue to rise and the moon will shine brightly in the evening sky. Flowers, trees and grass continue to grow with beauty and grace as the world sings praises to God. Nature can not be silenced.

The world around us is waiting to see what we will do. Will we shout of the glory of God? Will we sing His praises without ceasing? What are we afraid of the King of glory reigns and nothing that created can change this fact.

Our lives should be filled with the confidence of nature. We should be as bold as the birds of the air that sing melodiously of the glory of God. We can join in this chorus using words only when necessary. Our lives like the world in which we live can exalt with confidence the glory of God.

The physical world in which we live can be crumbling all around us. Illness, death of loved ones as well as fear of the unknown must be endured and the psalm of God’s praise be placed upon our lips. It is easy to sing when everything is going our way. It is a whole different story when our plans are disintegrating before our eyes. We can choose to sing or be silent. I choose to sing! Will you join me?

Is there a song in your heart and on your lips of the wonders of God? Do others know that you love God as the birds of the air sing of His glory? God is waiting on our response to this message. Let’s not let Him down, but rather sing with all of our might to His glory, honor and praise.
