"The Delight of God’s Eye"

The Delight of God’s Eye

Bible Verse:
He delivered me from my strong enemy, And from those who hated me, for they were too mighty for me. They confronted me in the day of my calamity, But the LORD was my stay. He brought me forth also into a broad place; He rescued me, because He delighted in me. Ps 18:17-19

My thought for today is God pleased by the qualities that He sees in us as we have evolved as children of the kingdom of heaven. I was captivated this morning by David’s words, “He delighted in me.” Could we honestly say that God is delighted in what He sees in us?

When created man and woman He commented that what He had created was “very good.” When He looks from His throne room in heaven today do you think He still feel the same, if not, why not? We have the capacity to honor God. We have the capabilities for God to be delighted in what we think, say and do. Life is all about making the right choices and today is no exception.

This preparation to be a delight in the sight of God is not accidental. We must purposefully prepare to bring God glory, honor and praise by the way in which we live. We can do this by choosing to empty ourselves of the things of this earth and fill ourselves with the things of God.

When we choose to love our neighbor as ourselves we are on the right path. When we choose to forgive, to build up rather than tear down, we have chosen wisely. When we give freely of our time, talent and treasures God smiles. When we study, worship and pray daily we are a delight in the eyes of God.

Think about how you are making preparations to live out the rest of your life. The actions and activities that have been your hallmark are in the past. It is what you and I do today and for the rest of our lives that can make a difference for time and eternity. Others are watching and they too will see God honor and glorified or not.

Will you choose to be the delight that God has called you to be? Will you take time now to prepare for the day ahead? God is waiting upon our response. When we delight Him we are in right relationship with Him. We find peace in His presence and this is what we need to endure the trials and tribulations of life. Go, be, all that God intended you to be. Put a smile on his face and life will be good.
