"Set A Part To Glorify God"
Set A Part To Glorify God
Bible Verse: O Lord, who may abide in Thy tent? Who may dwell on Thy holy hill? He who walks with integrity, and works righteousness, and speaks truth in his heart. He does not slander with his tongue, nor does evil to his neighbor, Nor takes up a reproach against his friend. Ps 15:1-3
My thought for today is the behavior of a person of God does not fit the norm of our society today. This person is set a part, a person who cares more about others than they care about themselves. A person of God walks with integrity having a right relationship with God.
I was going to pass by this short Psalm this morning until I read its five verse for a second and third time. God’s Spirit has an amazing impact when He wants to get His message across. At times I feel like He need to use a two by four because the obvious is often not what is seen through my eyes and imprinted on my mind and instilled in my heart.
I am so glad I did not pass this simple psalm by because God is calling a people to live by faith and not by sight. We desires a people that will not think more highly of the themselves than they ought. He desires a people who care about their integrity, their thoughts, words and actions. He wants men and women who look to Him as their source of well0-being and not to the world.
We are called to live in the world but not of the world. We are called to be a people set a part for the goodness of the Lord. We are called to deny our selfishness, pickup our cross not matter what the circumstances may be and to follow Christ wherever He leads us. This not the norm in the world in which I live.
We have a lot to learn. The message tucked in the words of this psalm can become our mantra if we are willing to place our relationship with God above the things of earth. We do have to choose what we are willing to do to be in right relationship with God. It will not be easy as commemorated last week in the passion, death and resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ.
Are you in right relationship with God? Do you live by a code of integrity? Is your heart and mind one with God? Do you speak the truth of God in love? We can improve our relationship with God. It does not matter how far you may have strayed because today is your new beginning. Call upon His name offer yourself as a living sacrifice to Him. Become a person of integrity.
