Ready to Meet God Face to Face
Bible Verse: For the LORD is righteous; He loves righteousness; the upright will behold His face. Ps 11:7
My thought for today is the thoughts and actions in our lives that establish a right relationship with God. As I read today’s scripture passage I felt totally convicted by the thought, words and actions that I have that do not set me in a right relationship with God, nor do I feel I will ever be upright to behold the face of God.
God is out of my league, in a league of His own and yet He wants to have a relationship with me. He wants for me to boldly call upon his name, to confidently seek His face to spend time with Him.
David said it best in Psalm 51 when he wrote God does not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; God does not take pleasure in burnt offerings or I would offer them. The true sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart. It is in our surrender, in our confession, in our desire to spend time with God as our first priority that we connect with God.
Our position with God was established not by what we have done but rather what Christ has done for us. We are reconciled to God when we confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Our sins are forgiven not by anything we do, but what Christ has done on the cross of Calvary.
Though I may never feel personally worthy of God’s love because I know my transgressions, God remembers them no more. He has open wide His arms and waits for me to boldly come into His embrace. The thought of doing this is quite humbling.
I am redeemed! I am forgiven! I am loved unconditionally! I have been made righteous by the blood of the Lamb. I can walk upright before my God and one day will see Him face to face. Now this is something to smile about. This is something to sing about, something to made know to all that I meet. God is Good.
Where do you stand in relationship with God? Do you feel like you can boldly go into the presence of your Creator? Are you ready to face God? Though these are not easy questions we can with the confidence of the angels of heaven boldly sing the praises of God. We can with humility, wash in the Blood of Christ come boldly into the presence of God. He is waiting for our response; let’s not disappoint Him.
