"Let Go You Are In Good Hands"

Let Go You Are In Good Hands

Bible Verse:
Why do You stand afar off, O LORD? Why do You hide Yourself in times of trouble? In pride the wicked hotly pursue the afflicted; let them be caught in the plots which they have devised. Ps 10:1-2

My thought for today is the fact that God never moves away from us, but rather you and I move away from God. At times we can be so caught up, so focused on the problems of this life that we begin to question whether or not even cares.

David in today’s passage has been hound by Saul, who is seeking to kill him. David has done nothing to Saul that would warrant these attacks. In fact David has help to defeat Israel’s enemies while on the run from Saul.

David has to hide in desert caves with his men because of the tenacity of Saul. There is no city that will hide him. He has men all around him trying to encourage him, but yet he seeks the counsel of God. He wants God to fix this problem.

David, a man after God’s own heart, finds himself alone and on the run. He questions whether of not God is involved, whether God even cares. David wonders if God has simply closed His eyes to David’s plight and no longer is watching over him.

David has become so fixated on his desire to stop running that he begins to question God. We are no different than David. Our problems can rise up and overwhelm us. We to can question God and wonder why He is not responded to our requests.

When these events occur in our lives and they will, even if they are not happening right now requires a redoubling of our efforts in prayer. We do not need to pull away from God and wonder why, but rather toward Him ask what am I to learn through the trials that are in my life.

When we humble ourselves before God, with a contrite heart we are in the right place for a learning experience. God always hears our prayers though we may see Him as far off He is put a whisper away. Talk to Him! Seek His desire for your life and do not focus on the circumstances, but rather on Him. This is God’s way. Are you willing to submit to Him? He has your life in the palm of His hand and will never let go. He loves you, so never forget this!
