"Shout To the Lord"

Shout To the Lord

Bible Verse:
That I may tell of all Thy praises, that in the gates of the daughter of Zion I may rejoice in Thy salvation. Ps 9:14

My thought for today is the anthem that we sing unto the Lord is witnessed in the way in which we live our lives. God is praised, ignored or blasphemed by the words and actions of our lives. We can choose to make our lives and anthem of praise. Words are optional when it comes to singing the praises of God.

More communication is done with body language and heart led action than any speech that has ever been given. A loving touch can melt a grieving heart. A smile can lift heavy burdens and an embrace can calm a boatload of fears.

We are a relational species. We need and look for support from each other. It comes in all forms, words, gestures and actions. Your life can be an anthem of praise to God or a funeral dirge. We can encourage and build up or discourage and teardown. Life is all about making good choices.

We were created to bring glory, honor and praise to God. We are wired for relationship with God, but somehow our world has messed up God’s plan for us. We have too many choices and they tend to focus on self-satisfaction rather than self surrendered action.

We can’t praise God when we are satisfying our own wants and desires. The melody in our lives does not ring out loud and clear unless we are willing to give it God focus. He is worthy of our praise. He is worthy of our attention and the people that He has loved are in our midst. Our reaction to God’s call is the anthem of our praise.

Take a moment right now. Look back at yesterday’s activities and the way in which you treated strangers, neighbors, and friends as well as loved ones. Was your life yesterday an anthem of praise?

No matter how you answered that question, today is a new day. You need to be purposeful in your praise, purposeful in your ability to build up, purposeful in your ability to encourage.

You have a smile Use it! Arms and hands were given to you so use them effectively for the glory of God. Speak God’s peace and provide His comfort to a world steeped in darkness. You can make a difference so let your life sing!
