Trust & Obey For There is No Other Way

Bible Verse:
And those who know Thy name will put their trust in Thee; for Thou, O LORD, hast not forsaken those who seek Thee. Ps 9:10

My thought for today is nothing can compare to the trustworthiness of God for He is without equal. We have in general come to trust in the things that we believe are under our control. People hate flying because they are no longer in control; they are no longer on the ground, which provides them a false sense of security.

When you take a step back and truly consider the things that are under our control we find out that there are NONE. Our next breath is a gift from God. It is not certain that we will breathe our last breath with our next breath in this life and there is nothing we can do to extend the life that we live today.

God is in charge! He has number our days and yet He wants us to come to the conclusion that we can trust Him for our present as well as our future. We know nothing about either and yet we would rather try and work out for ourselves rather than letting go and trusting God for their outcome.

David in today’s scripture passages reminds us that we can trust in God. He does have our interests in mind and will never forsake us. He may not give us the life that we desire to live, but He will watch over us and guide us to be the people desires for us to become.

This s a comforting thought for me. When I seek Jesus I have my priorities I the right place. When He becomes my all in all I have let go of what I can do and trust Him for what He will do with and in my life. I need this constant reminder. I forget that life does not revolve around me, but rather around Him.

From time to time I need an attitude check. I need to examine who is on the throne of my life and in who or what have I placed my trust. If it is not God then there is no hope. I am defenseless, helpless without God and this is truly a scary thought.

Who or what have you placed your trust in? Are you relying fully upon God or are there things that you still want to believe that you have control over? You can find peace n God. You will not find peace in the things that God has created or has enabled us to create. We are fully dependent upon God and therefore let’s embrace this fact and learn to thrive on the mercies and grace of God. He is worthy of our trust and praise.
