"Patience is A Virtue We Must Practice"

Patience is A Virtue We Must Practice

Bible Verse:
O Lord, do not rebuke me in Thine anger, Nor chasten me in Thy wrath. Be gracious to me, O LORD, for I am pining away; Heal me, O LORD, for my bones are dismayed. And my soul is greatly dismayed; But Thou, O LORD — how long? Ps 6:1-3

My thought for today is sometimes while strolling in the deserts of life we may feel alone, but take care we are not alone for God is always with us. God does not abandon those He loves. He may be silent. He may not answer as quickly as He has in times past, but that is not reason to be anxious that God has left us.

Paul wrote to the church at Rome almost two centuries ago that nothing could separate us from the love of God. We can be assured that God is with us even when He does not reveal Himself to us.

David in today’s scripture passage was in a desert time. He thought that He might have grieved the heart of God and that is the reason why God was not being revealed to him, but that was not true.

The evil one uses doubt and fear to have us question the goodness, faithfulness of God. The evil one will make us think that our sins are so grievous that God no longer cares about us, but this could not be further from the truth. God loves ALL who will turn to Him, call upon His name and humble themselves before Him.

Just because He does not answer when we call does not mean that He has not heard us. Just because we have been crying out to be heard for weeks, months or even years does not mean that God does not care. God grieves when we grieve. God cares deeply about you and I.

At times we might need to stop and simply wait. God is not in a rush nor should we be. Our world has duped us into thinking fast is good and faster is best, but this is not true because sometimes slow yields the greatest gifts because when they are received we cherish them even more. Wait on the Lord He has waited on you!

What’s your hurry? Are you impatient with God? Is He not responding in the manner that you have become accustom to? Life is not about speed, but rather about faith-filled living, relying solely on the sovereign presence of God. Waiting though hard is not always a bad thing, especially when we waiting we continue to praise God with all our heart, mind, body and strength.
