"Trusting In God For My All In All"
Trusting In God For My All In All
Bible Verse: Tremble, and do not sin; meditate in your heart upon your bed, and be still. Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and trust in the LORD. Psa. 4:4-5
My thought for today is the meditations of our heart are the focused on what we want or on what God wants for our lives. All too often we find ourselves praying for the selfish desires of our heart. These may be good intention prayers, the health of a loved one, peace in a troubled relationship, comfort in the loss of a job, but are they what God wants for our lives.
When we humble ourselves before God, meditate on His Word, seeking His will for our lives then we have begun to humble ourselves in the sight of the Lord. When our prayers reflect a desire to make our relationship with God more pure, more holy, more a time of worship and praise then we have the heart of God.
God will certainly answer a prayer that is after His own heart. We have witnessed these prayers being answered throughout the pages of scripture. David, Joshua, Isaiah, Paul and others prayed for the will of God over their own desires.
Each one of these men and many women learned to set aside their desires to place their trust that god had them covered. We can have that same assurance. Though the storms of life will still batter us and we will need to be buffed in these storms, God will see us through when we turn to Him and yield our lives into His care.
No one seeks fear and anxiety, no one wants to grieve or painful endure the challenges of aging, but God can see us through. We need to remember that we are citizens of the kingdom of God. Jesus has gone to prepare a place for us and soon we will all see Him face to face.
The greatest joy in life will be to here Him say, well done good and faithful servant, come and enter into my rest. When this happens we will know that surrender was not in vain, but rather a means to show us how His-tory is revealed.
Do you tremble before a holy God? Are you seeking your ways or His? Have you placed your trust completely in God or are you still thinking that you can endure life in your own strength? Life is much better when we choose to let go of it, surrender it into Jesus’ hands. When this happens life takes on a new and refreshed meaning and we can endure. Let go and let Jesus be Lord of your life.
