Contemplating God

Bible Verse:
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts. Is 55:8-9

My thought for today is that we do not think like God, we do no possess the majesty of God and therefore we need to remain humble lifting God above the cares of man. God sees the beginning from the end. He knows intimately the heart of each one of His creations. Nothing escapes the watchful eye of God.

It is amazing to consider that god knew that this message would be thought about, written, distributed and even read today at the dawn of time. His purposes beyond our comprehension for His ways are as far from ours as east is from west.

We His creation need to continually humble ourselves before His throne of grace realizing who He is and what He has done. We are so arrogant at times thinking that life is all about us and failing to realize that we were created for God’s good pleasure and not our own. Our pleasures are a gift from God and should be used as a means to draw us closer in thanksgiving to God for His amazing grace and yet we often deny Him and just want more.

We need to stop often in the midst of our busyness as Isaiah reminded the Israel nation to consider the thoughts and ways of God. When we do it should bring us to our knees in worship to the King of lings and Lord of lords.

God is not like any man we know. He is love, mercy and grace all wrapped up in a person who cares so deeply for us that He sent His son to die on a tree for our sins. He wants to reconcile us to Himself, but we need to set aside our thoughts and consider His. Life is too short to waste it on meaninglessness. We need to begin to consider the really important things of life, namely our relationship with God. He is waiting, let’s not disappoint Him.

Are you focused more on self than on God? Have the pleasures and purposes of life garnered more of your attention that they should? Do you spend more time in seek them than you do seeking God? We can choose differently if we want to. God can be a priority in our lives if we raise His thoughts above our own and His ways above our wants and desires. Its possible, but the action is left up to you and I to make, so, let’s choose wisely.
