"What is your Response?"

What is your Response?

Bible Verse:
Who has believed our message? And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed? For He grew up before Him like a tender shoot, And like a root out of parched ground; He has no stately form or majesty That we should look upon Him, Nor appearance that we should be attracted to Him. He was despised and forsaken of men, A man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; And like one from whom men hide their face, He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Is 53:1-3

My thought for today is our belief in the message of Jesus Christ should set our hearts on fire, but often all we see is smolders coals that have not yet ignited. What will it take for us to walk by faith daily, moment by moment and not be sight?

Isaiah challenged a nation in bondage to believe God for their salvation. Isaiah goes on to describe the life of a man yet unknown to them, but well known to us, Jesus Christ. Philip explained this passage to the Eunice on his way back to Egypt. Once the Eunice was introduced to Jesus his life was transformed and as a result he requested to be baptized as an outward sign of an inward transformation.

We have similar choices today and every day of our lives. We can live in and through Christ , dependent upon Him for our salvation or by placing our trust in a world incapable of delivering on the promises it makes. We hear all of the time if only I had more money, more power, better health I could do this or that. Truth of the matter is that even with these things we still would be crippled.

We are only truly free by faith in the love of Jesus Christ and His redeeming power. We are free to fully enjoy life by faith not tied to circumstances of life. We will all live a little while and then die. It is that kittle while that makes all of the difference in eternity.

Today is when we may choose to walk by faith and not be sight. Today we can place our trust in God through Jesus His Son. Today begins the rest of our lives. Let’s not squander a single moment and enjoy life to the fullest as disciples of Jesus Christ?

Have you let go of life and placed your hope, your trust and your future in Jesus Christ? If not why not? What will it take for you to let go and not be held by the cares of life? Jesus is waiting for your answer. Please do not let Him wait.
